Meeting with Andrew Wang, Jan 29 meeting notes

- meeting commenced at 2:45pm due to transportation problems for Andrew Wang. We only had a very short time to meet as Andrew had another meeting at 3pm.

- Andrew introduced Laurel to the BB development server, locations of files, how to upload a Building block.

- Answered a few questions about information we need (yes we can obtain info about courses from the course name (code), UTorId, etc.

- He has some concerns about access to connections. There is no universal solution in place at this time for the BB for obtaining connections from a connection pool. We may need to consider the volume of usage for our tool and whether this would be an issue. This would require a meeting with the BB server people as well as others working on BB to come to a decision as to how to handle the solution for everyone rather than each group creating their own solution.

- Data transmission via REST - Andrew is not familiar with REST and was not able to confirm if this would be the best way to go. Laurel will need to do more reading to check on this.

- Andrew followed up the meeting with an email containing some links and path information regarding the server, etc.
